This Netflix series takes us through how cults work, revealing how disgusting people can be and how disturbing religions can be to faithful believers.

I wasn’t prepared to watch this series, honestly. I wanted to know how cults can drag people in (and extremely deeply) and how they can control every action of fully-grown, intellectual adults.

It’s unbelievable and horrible to watch.

As an agnostic, I don’t get why people can truly, 100% believe in God. But I get why people seek something/someone to believe in. During times when we’re lonely and vulnerable, we want something to hold on to, to lead the way, and to shed light on the darkness. Religions can give us that feeling of belonging, a community that shares the same faith.

Opposite to what we thought, cults can entice the most beautiful, intellectual people. They know exactly where to look for believers. They’re masked with good causes.
