I love to have an active lifestyle. Getting the body that I want and improving my health and strength have always been top-tier for me. In fact, I do enjoy the activities and sports. I don’t do them because I think they’re good for me. I do them because I enjoy the process.
Activities I’m doing currently
Gym: I’ve been going to the gym consistently. I enjoy upper body days so much more than leg days, but lovely nature gave me a body shape where I have to work extra hard to build my butt. Aaaand I think the muscle-mommy look is hot. Anyone telling me lifting heavy makes me look like a man can scram.
Walking/running: I love walking, especially solidatory walks in peaceful places. It allows my brain to wander and great ideas may emerge. Unfortunately, where I live is too hot, crowded, and polluted to have enjoyable walks. I do walk and run indoor tho. And join a marathon run or trail run when I have the opportunity to.
Boxing & Muay Thai: I got the opportunity to try these sports out with a coach, and turned out I really enjoyed them. So I’ve been taking a course. I love that type of focus I need to attack the targets and dodge the attacks, and the sounds I make when I hit them right. Time just flies so fast when practicing.
Mindset
I believe having the right mindset for fitness can make it less intimidating and more sustainable. I don’t like the life where I have to feel guilty for having an extra drink, eating something labeled as “unhealthy”, or skipping a workout when I’m not in the best state for it. Of course, consistency is a big thing and I respect that. But I want to cut myself some slack if I, on a gloomy day, go off the track.
Making your diet “everything that makes me happy is forbidden” makes it harder to maintain long term, and loosing weight is a marathon not a sprint; you gotta be sustainable.

I’ll feel guilty if I miss the gym more than 2 days. So I’ll remind myself that I’ll be working out all throughout my life. And sometimes other things are more important than the gym. I can always come back and continue where I left off.

I love having my daily latte. It adds extra calories to my day and probably flares up my skin, but it makes me less grumpy in the morning and it’s the routine that I enjoy. So I switch between modes:
-
I don’t need to cut it out completely, but I’ll consider it more of a treat than an everyday thing.
-
Alternatives: Smaller sizes, non-fat & almond milk, latte 3x & regular coffee 2x a week, homemade, Americano with a couple pumps sugar free vanilla topped with a heavy splash of 2%.
Should you hire a personal trainer?
Absolutely yes, if you have the money.
