Lubricating eye drops (artificial tears)
Active ingredients:
- polyethylene glycol: acts as a lubricant and humectant, lubricating the ocular surface and helping to lock in moisture.
- propylene glycol: common, safe, and effective lubricant and humectant used in artificial tears to treat dry, irritated eyes by retaining moisture. May cause irritation.
How often should you use eyedrops for dry eyes
- Preservative-free: more than 4 times a day is ok, but you should check with the doctor
- Preservative: up to 4 times a day
Products I tried
- Refresh Tears vials: dry my eyes even more
- Novotane Ultra: creates a wet layer on my eyes, which I find is comfortable and hydrating. Expires 15 days after opening.
