I picked up this book thinking it’d include discussions around overthinking, but it turned out to be just a bunch of psychological terms and the author’s life stories.

A few chapters actually felt interesting, like the one comparing toxic relationships to cults, how people inside are blinded while outsiders can only watch, pitying them but unable to pull their loved ones out of those dynamics.

But it got boring fast. It read like a memoir, and I had no interest in the author’s personal matters. Each chapter discussed a cognitive bias, but they were bloated with anecdotes and research when the core idea could’ve fit in a single paragraph.

I had to drop it, but I’m open to reading another book of hers about cults. I have a soft spot for cult-related materials, I must say.
